Big East officials were meeting with representatives from the University of Central Florida on Friday, as the conference closed in on extending formal invitations for expansion, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.

Air Force athletic director Hans Mueh called the WAC and Missouri Valley about possibly placing all its sports except football in one of the conferences with the expectation that the football team could be invited to the Big East.
