Ryan Teel (Texas A&M), Kevin Wyss (Auburn), Haley Deakins (Texas A&M), Dominique Scott (Arkansas) and Monica York (South Carolina) were among the top performers these week, earning them the top honors as SEC Athletes of the Week.
The South Carolina cross country team won its final home meet of the season, the USC Open #2. Freshman Monica York won the two-mile race with a time of 11:53.95, defeating 41 other runners, from seven total teams.
The Arkansas women's cross country team has moved into the top-five nationally to highlight three Southeastern Conference squads currently ranked in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches Poll.
The Florida Gator women were in action over the weekend, competing at the Paul Short Run in the Women's Gold 6K division. The Gators finished eighth out of 38 teams, and were led by freshman Lauren Brasure's 16th-place finish.
The men's and women's cross country teams from the University of Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee all participated in the Greater Louisville Classic race on Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.
