Molly Seidel of University Lake (Hartland, Wis.) is surpised in her AP Literature class by U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials winner Shalane Flanagan with the announcement that Seidel had won Gatorade National XC Runner of the Year.

Jordan Burgess was named Gatorade National Volleyball Player of the Year this week. April Ross surprised Jordan at school in Tampa, Fla.

Morgan Brian, a senior at Frederica Academy (St. Simons Island, Ga.) committed to Virginia, was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year. She scored 71 goals and passed for 30 assists for the state champion Knights (17-2-1).

Bradley Beal of Chaminade (St. Louis, Mo.) is recognized as the Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Alonzo Mourning surprised Beal in global studies with the announcement April 4.

Kasey Fagan of Dunnellon (Dunnellon, Fla.) is the Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year. She is surprised at school by University of Arizona record holder Alicia Hollowell.
