Auburn football fans won't get a shot at Harvey Updyke after all. The organizers of a Sept. 29 charity event in Mobile, Alabama, have pulled the plug on having Updyke appear for a pie throw or dunking booth.
Auburn fans might finally be able to seek their revenge against Harvey Updyke, who poisoned Auburn's beloved oak trees at Toomer's Corner. He has agreed to a charity event in which fans will be allowed to dunk him or throw pies at his face.
Harvey Updyke turned down a plea offer from prosecutors that would have required him to spend 13 years in prison and never attend a Crimson Tide sporting event for the rest of his life, a source close to the case told ESPN.com on Friday.
