Chris Hansen is not going away in his pursuit of bringing the NBA back to Seattle.

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson announced to screaming throngs of Kings fans Friday that the deal to sell the NBA franchise to a group led by software tycoon Vivek Ranadive has been signed.

Ownership representatives met for nearly four hours Wednesday and ultimately voted to reject the Kings' proposed move to Seattle, backing last month's unanimous recommendation from a relocation committee to keep the team in Sacramento.

A committee of NBA owners who have been studying the future of the Sacramento Kings met Monday but did not change their position about moving the franchise.
