Tennessee teams have traditionally relied on defense, rebounding and a little bit of mettle. Tuesday's victory against Rutgers was a fabulous display of the latter.
In the first half, Tennessee was a team without a solution at point guard. In the second, Rutgers fell victim to it. In the end, the Lady Vols rallied for a 55-51 victory.
Earlier this season, Pat Summitt thought this might be her worst rebounding team ever. But Tennessee dominated the boards on Tuesday to take home its first NCAA title in nine years.
