Tom Awad provides his latest update to the Conn Smythe watch. Jonathan Quick leads three Los Angeles Kings players making a run at the No. 1 spot in the rankings, currently occupied by the Coyotes' Mike Smith.
Mike Smith is still the leader for the Conn Smythe Trophy, but Los Angeles' Jonathan Quick has jumped up to the No. 2 spot. Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist ranks No. 4 and could continue to move up if New York continues to win.
Tim Thomas still leads Hockey Prospectus' rankings as the NHL's most productive postseason player, and by a sizeable margin, raising the possibility that a player from the losing team may earn the Conn Smythe Trophy.
Tom Awad's Player Power Rankings -- a complement to the NHL Power Rankings -- have two goalies (Tim Thomas, Carey Price) at the top and three key forwards -- Stamkos, Ovechkin and Crosby -- sprinkled throughout as of the Nov. 29 edition.
