Devin Gardner replaced Denard Robinson in a surprise quarterback switch by Michigan right before kickoff, throwing two touchdown passes and running for another score to lead the Wolverines past Minnesota 35-13 on Saturday.
Keshawn Martin scored twice in the third quarter on similar lunges to the end zone, and No. 23 Michigan State held off Denard Robinson and No. 11 Michigan 28-14 on Saturday for its fourth straight victory over the Wolverines.
Denard Robinson did seem to close the gap behind returning starter Tate Forcier at Saturday's public practice, running for a score on his first drive and connecting with Roy Roundtree in stride on a 97-yard pass.
