Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre said Monday that he disagreed with the club's decision to put him on the disabled list and wanted to try to play Tuesday despite his strained left quadriceps muscle.
Texas Rangers ace Yu Darvish told an assembled group of Japanese media on Sunday that he felt some hip discomfort earlier this offseason, but after altering his weight-lifting program he arrived in Arizona feeling healthy.
Yu Darvish threw a full bullpen session Friday and even caught footballs with some of the Rangers' pitchers, declaring that his stiff neck is fine. He's scheduled to start Sunday against Zack Greinke and the Los Angeles Angels.
Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington said starting pitcher Yu Darvish is still on track to make his scheduled outing on Sunday. When asked if Darvish could start before Sunday, Washington said it was a "consideration."
