Athlete Card | Olympics Track and Field Medal Tracker

Injuries have restricted the arrival of Jamaica's Usain Bolt on the international scene of stars but signs of his unquestioned talent were on view in 2002 when he became the youngest 200m junior world champion at 15 years and 332 days when he crossed the line in 19.93 seconds. On May 31, 2008, Bolt made headlines around the world with a stunning new world record of 9.72 seconds in the 100m.

After recently setting a new 100m world record of 9.69 seconds as well as a new 200m world record of 19.30 seconds in Beijing, Bolt became the first since Carl Lewis in 1984 to win gold in both races in the same Olympic Games.
